Today, U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer, U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, and Representative John Mannion are demanding answers on the Trump administration's reported plans to potentially close the statewide offices for the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), Farm Service Agency (FSA), and USDA Rural Development (RD) in Syracuse. President Trump and Elon Musk’s so-called “Department of Government Efficiency” is terminating the lease for the building that houses these three agencies, leaving the future of the programs they administer uncertain.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Representative John W. Mannion today released the following statement denouncing Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem’s decision to end collective bargaining rights for more than 40,000 TSA employees responsible for aviation safety:

“The millions of Americans who pass through airports each year should be deeply troubled by the Homeland Security Secretary’s unilateral decision to strip collective bargaining rights from 40,000 TSA employees who keep our airports and skies safe, including at Syracuse Hancock International Airport.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Representative John W. Mannion today announced that Karin Reeves, a fifth-generation farmer from Baldwinsville, New York, will be his guest at President Trump’s joint address to Congress on March 4.  
Ms. Reeves' family operates Reeves Farms, which began in the late 1800’s. Reeves Farm grows vegetables and berries on 1000 acres of tillable land with a seasonal workforce of 80-90 people. They help supply fresh, local produce to most major grocery stores across Central New York. Ms.

Mannion (NY-22) today joined Members of Congress at the Department of Education to demand answers from Acting Secretary Denise Carter on threats from the current administration to illegally dismantle the agency. Earlier this week, Mannion and his colleagues sent a letter to the Department to request a meeting. Mannion and his colleagues were denied entry to the building.
