Statement from Representative Mannion (NY-22) on Donald Trump's Attacks on Labor and Collective Bargaining Rights

SYRACUSE, NY – Representative John W. Mannion (NY-22) today released the following statement on Donald Trump’s attacks on labor and collective bargaining rights:

“Donald Trump is no friend to working people – it’s clear his agenda is all about undermining fundamental workers’ rights while stacking the deck for the rich.  

Trump’s executive order stripping dedicated civil servants of collective bargaining rights is union-busting at the highest level. He’s targeting the people who send your tax refund and social security checks, who fight crime, and who provide services for veterans and farmers. This is the next step in a coordinated attack against workers that started with TSA agents and kneecapping the National Labor Relations Board.  

And Trump isn’t acting alone. His billionaire buddies like Elon Musk have been openly hostile to organized labor, using threats and intimidation to crush workers’ rights.  

I was a union president. The fight for collective bargaining is about every worker’s right to fair treatment. I won’t stand by while Trump and Musk try to strip away these rights and protections under the law. I’ll always fight for American workers, their families, and the middle class.”
