SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Representative John W. Mannion (NY-22) today released the following statement on cuts to public broadcasting: 

“I strongly oppose the President’s decision to advance a rescissions package that includes deep and damaging cuts to public broadcasting. Clawing back resources from NPR, PBS, and local stations previously approved by Congress continues the troubling trend of Republican lawmakers doing the president’s bidding – in this case, attacking the foundational value of freedom of the press.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Representative John W. Mannion (NY-22) today met with administrators, health care providers, and officials from St. Joseph’s Health to highlight the devastating impact that Medicaid cuts included in the budget reconciliation bill will have on local health care services.  
The budget reconciliation package, which passed the House of Representatives in May on party lines, cuts Medicaid by more than $700 billion.

EMS Counts Act

The U.S. Department of Labor’s Bureau of Statistics (BLS) current occupational classification system does not properly account for firefighters who are cross-trained as a paramedic or EMT.
